Are you tired of feeling fat? Are you tired of fighting your muffin top only to lose the fight every single day? Believe it or not, the things that might be keeping you from getting skinny can be some of your day-to-day habits that you don’t even think about doing anymore. Here are a number of habits that you might want to address if you wish to improve the size of your waist.

Just consuming foods low in fat or have no fat at all. Believe it or not, low fat and fat free foods do not actually save you many calories. What they take out in fat, they replace in the form of carbs. These carbs cause your body to have sugar rushes and crashes and also the “rebound hunger” that comes soon afterwards so that you are always eating. Aim for your taste buds and let yourself savor the full fat versions of food from time to time. You won’t be as starved and you will have a great deal more vigor.

Trying to work out your nutrition on your own can often cause you to stagnate in your weight. When you consider it on a surface level, nutrition seems to be really straightforward. The honest truth is, however, that it is actually really complicated. If you wish to start trying to get healthy, make sure you have at least one meeting with an experienced and licensed nutritionist. Your nutritionist will help you come up with a diet plan full of food that you should be consuming.

Failure to get enough sleep. Studies have found that people who don’t get sufficient sleep have an average of two and a half times more belly fat and a tougher time slimming down than people who get the recommended six to seven hours every night. You may have been told over and over again that you need eight hours of sleep at night but if you are trying to slim down, getting between six and seven hours is best.

Consuming soft drinks – even the diet stuff – is terrible for you if you wish to lose weight and banish your muffin top. Those who drink soda are thirty percent more likely to get a number of weight problems. Diet soda drinkers had waists that expanded up to five times faster than folks who didn’t drink soft drinks. And so, get rid of that Pepsi or Coke and choose water instead!

You’d be astounded at how many of your day-to-day minor habits are keeping you from losing the weight you wish to lose. Things like drinking a good amount of soft drinks, eschewing empty calories and trying to plan your own nutritious diet (especially when you are new to dieting) can all contribute to the increase of your waist. Work with your primary health care provider to see if any of your habits could be impeding your weight loss efforts.
